I’m fundamentally a curious and patient individual. Curious to acknowledge things I do not yet know and patient to take the time and put in the work to understand new ideas and concepts. Curious to explore how new ideas can change the world and patient to afford them the time and care they need to change the world. Curious to not rest on my laurels and continuously ask “what next?” and patient to evaluate multiple possibilities and not get swayed by the first “next big thing”. And this personality has found a natural home in the start-up ecosystem.
I stumbled across the Indian start-up ecosystem more by chance than design when I joined Flipkart in 2013, when it was still early days for the ecosystem as a whole and one of the questions in my interview with Flipkart was “Have you ever bought anything online?” The time I spent at Flipkart and more importantly, the quality and energy of people I had the privilege of working with blew me over - and left me wanting for more. And this is what drives me as an investor - to be a part of great journeys, to walk but a few steps alongside the great minds and indominatible hearts that shape the world of tomorrow, and make a meaningful contribution along the way.
I have been an investor for the majority of my career. I was leading the VC investments for Arihant Patni’s Family Office prior to co-founding Morphosis. In that capacity, I’ve made over 20 investments across multiple sectors and had the privilege of working closely with some stellar teams and learning some key lessons along the way - lessons that are deeply ingrained in our DNA at Morphosis. At Morphosis, I lead all things Investment and bring to the table an extensive network across the ecosystem, a strong investment thesis across our key investment themes, a disciplined approach to deal making and a founder-first mentality to our professional relationships.
I hold a B.Tech from IIT Roorkee and an MBA from ISB Hyderabad. Personally, I enjoy exploring good Indie rock bands, playing football and alternating between reading fantasy fiction and classic literature while my evenings and weekends, since early 2001, are planned around when Liverpool are playing.
